Located in a conservation area, the London Institute for Healthcare Engineering (LIHE) combines contemporary design with sensitivity to its historic surroundings.

The LIHE building, designed by HLM Architects, reflects a balance of heritage and innovation. Situated in the Albert Embankment Conservation Area, its facade complements the neighbouring Grade II listed Venetian-inspired hospital buildings.

Crafted from approximately 790 GRC elements in 130 unique variants, the 1700 m² facade features sleek panels of 12–15 mm thickness. Recessed holes and embedded stainless-steel brackets ensure seamless installation, allowing the building to integrate harmoniously with its historic context while supporting its cutting-edge healthcare mission.
